LPE有点类似GIMP或者photoshop中的滤镜功能。在GIMP中，滤镜可以给图像添加一些特殊效果；在Inkscape中，LPE就是给路径添加一些特殊效果。本质上，LPE是用更简单的方法来实现一些复杂的路径编辑。LPE有以下特点：

1. LPE是无损操作，被操作的路径随时可以恢复；

2. LPE操作对象是路径，所以操作之前需要先选中路径；

3. 编辑LPE路径时使用节点工具；

4. LPE可以叠加；

5. LPE有时能够节约用户大量时间；

6. LPE对位图无效；
